This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Conroe is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Conroe is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

A Welcome Addition Up North: Charming Vibe and Solid Vietnamese Staples I tried out Nep Viet Restaurant over the weekend while they still had their grand opening sign up from last week. Even though I only ordered my food to-go, the interior immediately caught my eye. The space has so much potential with its charming decor, featuring Vietnam-inspired yellow shutters on the walls, traditional artwork, and greenery. The lighting is almost ambient, and between the bar area, standard tables, and a really nice corner booth, it gave me immediate thoughts of coming back for a date night or a girls' night out. For my takeout order, I grabbed a pretty wide spread: • Phở Tự Chọn (Build Your Own Pho) - $16 • Bún Thịt Nướng (Chargrilled Pork) - $16 • Canh Chua Cá (Tamarind Fish Soup with Vietnamese Herb) - $19 • Cá Kho Tộ (Caramelized & Braised Bone-in Catfish) - $19 • Tôm Rang (Shrimp) - $18 But my absolute delight was finding the Cua Lột Rang (Crispy Soft Shell Crab - $20). I have yet to see this offered anywhere else this far north of Bellaire, so seeing it on the menu was a huge plus! Overall, the food was good The portions were a little smaller than I expected given the price point,

Yesterday, my sister and I visited Nep Viet for the first time. I absolutely loved the grilled scallops - they were super delicious and fresh! Overall, the food is great, the service is top-notch, and the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. Since it just recently opened, not many people know about it yet. I hope more people come to try it out and have as wonderful an experience as I did!

Finally someone brought Saigon to The Woodlands. I was so excited to see traditional vietnamese dishes other than pho and bun on the menu. On my first visit we enjoyed the Seafood Banh Xeo and Bun Bo Hue. The crepe was made to perfection. The Bun Bo Hue was flavorful. On my second visit we tried the Salt & Pepper Tofu, Canh Chua Ca, and Ca Chien Me. My childhood memories rushed back to our family dinners with these delicious and authentic cuisine. I now can save gas from my frequent drives to Houston for Vietnamese food. I can't wait to try the other dishes on the menu.
